SWITCH Project: Consortium Meeting in Montpellier

4th, 5th, and 6th February 2025, Montpellier, France – The Switch project Consortium met in Montpellier for its third general assembly.

SWITCH is built on the belief that meaningful innovation emerges through shared expertise and cooperation. Thus, the Consortium meeting is pivotal in facilitating dialogue and interaction between partners.

Each Food Hub and scientific partner had the opportunity to present its activities and plans. Among those were presentations about Switch Digital tools, such as Food Explorer, which can immediately tell if a dish is environmentally friendly and healthy. Others gave an overview of food consumption patterns in Europe. Finally, tools to better integrate vulnerable communities were also presented.

The people behind the Hubs participated in a Speed Date format to get to know each other better, foster new connections, and lay the ground for future collaborations.

The hosting hub, Montpellier, took center stage with an in-depth exploration of its initiatives. This culminated in a foodscape tour through the city center, showcasing how food shapes the urban environment and community. The visit brought the Consortium to spaces conventioned with the Common Food Fund and examples of Solidarity Food Shops.

The Consortium Meeting ended with a consolidation of the lessons learned and takeaways, highlighting the importance of gathering, learning, and acting together as change-makers. As SWITCH moves forward, the connections built, the knowledge exchanged, and the strategies refined during these days in Montpellier will continue to shape the project’s impact.
