June 8, Venice – The SWITCH project took part in the Venice Climate Week, the first event in Italy entirely dedicated to climate change and sustainability. Set against the backdrop of one of the world’s most vulnerable and symbolic cities, the week offered a powerful platform to dive deeper into the global challenges we collectively face—and the solutions we are building together.
For SWITCH, it was a valuable opportunity to engage with topics that sit at the very heart of our mission. Throughout the event we exchanged views with experts, activists, entrepreneurs, and researchers on how food system innovation can become a driver of climate action. From agroecology to data-informed decision-making, and from consumer behaviour to local food policies, the conversations highlighted how interconnected our food, health, and climate futures truly are.
To broaden the reach of these discussions, we invited influencers from across Europe to join us in Venice. Their participation brought fresh perspectives and creative energy, demonstrating the importance of translating scientific and policy conversations into languages, formats, and narratives that resonate with wider audiences. By experiencing the event first-hand, they are now helping to amplify SWITCH messages through storytelling, digital engagement, and community-building across their platforms.
Throughout the week, we shared knowledge, ideas, and innovative approaches—but above all, we shared time. Time to reflect, to listen, and to form new connections. Time to strengthen our collective commitment to transforming food systems for healthier people and a healthier planet.
Venice Climate Week reminded us once again that meaningful change happens when diverse voices come together with curiosity, courage, and a common purpose. SWITCH is proud to contribute to this growing movement, and we look forward to continuing the journey toward a more sustainable and resilient future for all.
