Published the second edition of the SWITCH Magazine: Action that Nourish Change

16th May 2025, Pollica – The SWITCH Project is proud to announce the launch of the second edition of its Magazine. This comprehensive publication offers an engaging and detailed overview of the progress and achievements made during the first two and a half years period of the SWITCH Project, funded by the European Union under Horizon Europe.

The magazine was officially launched during the RegenerAction event in Pollica, part of the SWITCH Marathon organised by the Future Food Institute.

“Actions that Nourish Change” celebrates key milestones of the SWITCH project, showcasing how communities, researchers, and food hubs across six European regions are collaborating to drive a just transition to sustainable and healthy diets. The release features tools developed by the partners, innovative participatory methods like photo diaries, and scientific insights that inform food policy. It also contains interviews with food hub leaders, testimonials from community members, and stories from the ground, highlighting the real people behind the transformation. The magazine’s main purpose is to disseminate scientific insights in a clear and accessible manner and to highlight the innovative character of the SWITCH Project.

The SWITCH Project is committed to transforming European food systems to facilitate a just, healthy, and sustainable food transition through the application of knowledge and innovation. This ambitious initiative aims to disseminate best practices related to sustainable diets, ensuring that they are understood and implemented across various European regions where the project’s Food Hubs are actively engaging communities. The six Food Hubs across Europe are located in: Rome and the Lazio region; Berlin-Brandenburg; Montpellier and the Occitanie region; Cagliari and the Sardinia region; Gothenburg and the Västra Götaland region; and Donostia (San Sebastian) and the Basque region.

Over the course of four years, these Food Hubs and their partners will work locally to implement environmental, economic, and social sustainability. The objective is to enhance food systems and related cultural approaches, increase knowledge and awareness, ensure access to sustainable and healthy foods for all consumers through a strategy of co-creating equitable solutions.

By focusing on the entire food supply chain, from production to consumption, SWITCH aims to foster a broader awareness and adoption of healthy and sustainable food systems within the European Union. The project addresses training gaps and accessibility issues to support the large-scale adoption of healthy dietary patterns, in alignment with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
