The SWITCH Journalism Award 2026 is now entering its public voting phase, inviting audiences across Europe to help select the most impactful journalism on sustainable and healthy food systems.
The SWITCH jury has shortlisted a selection of outstanding articles from across Europe. These contributions highlight urgent and innovative perspectives on food systems transformation, including sustainable and healthy diets, food education, food justice, innovation in food systems, and policy-driven behavioural change.
The SWITCH Journalism Award recognises excellence in journalism that explores the transition towards more sustainable, healthy, and equitable food systems. The award aims to amplify high-quality reporting that informs public debate and inspires action at the intersection of food, climate, health, and social justice.
Public voting now open
The shortlisted articles are now available for public voting. The public vote will contribute to the final selection of winners, offering audiences the opportunity to actively participate in recognising the most influential food journalism in Europe.
Voting deadline: 30 April 2026
The winners of the SWITCH Journalism Award will be awarded during Venice Climate Week 2026, an international gathering dedicated to climate action, sustainability, and systemic transformation.
Seven winning articles will be recognised and the winners will be invited to Venice to take part in a dedicated programme including a press tour, a roundtable on communicating sustainable and healthy food practices, and networking opportunities with journalists, policymakers, and experts in the field.
